Telekom Shops rely on location-based-services with Bitplaces

Berlin, September 20th, 2017 – Bitplaces GmbH based in Berlin is managing the location- and context-based customer communication of the app users of the“Telekom Shop”. Bitplaces’ technology is integrated in the T-Shop apps and enables location-based services and messaging. This allows individual targeting of the apps users nearby and inside a particular Telekom Shop. Customers may for instance book appointments via the app. This will enable Telekom to improve customer service to reduce e.g. waiting periods. In addition, Bitplaces’ technology allows to send app users targeted offers in the vicinity of a shop to encourage the app users to visit the T-Shop.

In Germany all 700 Telekom Shops have been equipped with BLE beacons.. In addition, Bitplaces has placed geofences around all Telekom Shops as virtual circles. App users entering a so called Bitplace are detected by the system and are led to a Telekom Shop with appropriate offerings and services.
